Please select one of the following options for extra credit. Extra credit option is due Thursday, October 10th.
- Create a Prezi centered around some theme or character in The Odyssey. You must weave in quotes to support your focus, and your Prezi should be a minimum of 12 frames.
- Write a minimum 30-line poem based on some element of The Odyssey. Incorporate imagery, figurative language, and sound effects (alliteration/assonance/consonance/onomatopoeia).
- Draw/sketch/paint an image representing a scene from The Odyssey. Do your best to highlight character, conflict, theme, or some other element of fiction in your picture, and compose a brief (few sentences) statement that explains the significance of your piece and the moment it represents.
- Rewrite a scene from a minor character's perspective, allowing us to see events from a different point of view. You do not need to use dactylic hexameter (thank goodness!) but could use a poetic form. Just work to imitate the epic poetry form in Homer but don't worry about counting syllables.
- Craft a dramatic reading of a passage in the poem to be presented to the class. Utilize a costume and props for a really awesome reading.
- Anything else? I'm open to ideas and am happy take suggestions.
